Be a Can Opener

Grocery stores are filled with canned goods. We walk up and down the aisles to pick out things to fill our cupboards. The cans have an expiration date and need to be opened before that date so the contents will still be good. Many people are living a life that resembles a canned good on a shelf. The world is full of unopened goods that have an expiration date. We are all created to be good and do good. One of the best things we can do in life is to be a can opener and help open the lid on someone else’s goods. The best way to do that is through an act of kindness. The intentional act of removing someone’s lid not only opens their potential but allows us to be part of something much bigger than we could imagine. By opening others, we open the opportunity for God. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 Look for opportunities to be a can opener before the expiration date we are all faced with.
