A Permanent Marker
One of my favorite tools in life is a is a small dry erase board. It is the size of a small picture you could hang on a wall. I have particularly grown fond of its use in teaching and coaching. In teaching, an overhead projector allows me to send information by simply wiping the dry erase board between the messages. In coaching from the sideline, the dry erase board allows me to send in plays one after another. What happens when a permanent marker accidentally is used? The eraser no longer works and the message becomes distorted. In life, we start out with a clean dry erase board. Different events, circumstances, and experiences happen beyond our control and leave a permanent mark. These marks begin to accumulate over time and the messages we send and/or receive become distorted and unreadable. This is our life and we can’t erase the permanent marks left on our board. If we can step back and allow God to connect the marks, He will be able to send His message through us. Every permanent mark has a purpose in the overall message we send and/or receive. Accept these permanent marks and allow them to complete the person you are to be. God can turn a mess into a message.
